How to reconnect your SolarEdge inverter to Wi‑Fi using the mySolarEdge app

Use this if your router, Wi‑Fi name, or Wi‑Fi password has changed, or if your SolarEdge monitoring has stopped updating.

Use this guide if your SolarEdge monitoring has stopped updating, or if your home router, Wi‑Fi name, or Wi‑Fi password has changed.

You can usually reconnect the inverter yourself using the mySolarEdge app. You do not need to open the inverter or touch any internal electrical wiring.

Safety first

  • Do not open the inverter cover.
  • Do not touch any cables, internal parts, AC switches, DC isolators, or electrical wiring.
  • Only follow the steps shown in the mySolarEdge app.
  • If you are unsure at any step, stop and contact Sunollo support.

Before you start

Please have these ready:

  • Your phone with the mySolarEdge app installed.
  • Your mySolarEdge login details.
  • Your home Wi‑Fi name and password.
  • Access to stand near the SolarEdge inverter.
  • A stable mobile data connection, in case your phone temporarily disconnects from home Wi‑Fi during setup.

Step 1: Open the mySolarEdge app

  1. Open the mySolarEdge app on your phone.
  2. Log in with your SolarEdge account details.
  3. If you cannot log in, contact Sunollo support and we can help check your access.

Step 2: Open Inverter Communication

  1. Tap the menu icon, usually shown as three lines.
  2. Tap Inverter Communication.
  3. The app will guide you to connect your phone to the inverter.

Step 3: Connect your phone to the inverter

  1. Stand close to the inverter.
  2. If the app asks you to scan the inverter QR code, scan the QR code on the side of the inverter.
  3. If your phone asks to join a temporary SolarEdge Wi‑Fi network, tap Join.
  4. If the app gives a specific instruction to use the inverter’s external switch, follow the app exactly. Do not open the inverter.

This temporary connection lets your phone send the new Wi‑Fi details to the inverter.

Step 4: Configure your home Wi‑Fi

  1. In Inverter Communication, tap Configure or Configure Wi‑Fi.
  2. Select your home Wi‑Fi network from the list.
  3. Enter your Wi‑Fi password carefully. Wi‑Fi passwords are case-sensitive.
  4. Tap Join.

Step 5: Confirm the connection worked

  1. Go back to Inverter Communication.
  2. Connect to the inverter again if the app asks you to.
  3. Check the communication status.

If you see S_OK, the inverter is successfully communicating with the SolarEdge monitoring server.

It may take a short while before the monitoring app fully refreshes the latest production data.

If the Wi‑Fi does not reconnect

Try these simple checks:

  • Make sure you entered the Wi‑Fi password correctly.
  • Check that your phone is close to the inverter during setup.
  • Check that your home Wi‑Fi signal reaches the inverter area.
  • Try connecting to your main home Wi‑Fi network instead of a guest network.
  • Close and reopen the mySolarEdge app, then try again.
  • If you recently changed your router, Wi‑Fi name, or password, make sure you are selecting the new network.

When to contact Sunollo support

Please contact Sunollo support if:

  • You cannot see Inverter Communication in the app.
  • The app cannot scan the QR code.
  • The inverter does not show or confirm S_OK.
  • Your Wi‑Fi network does not appear in the app.
  • You are unsure whether the inverter is safely accessible.
  • The app shows an error that you do not understand.

When contacting Sunollo, please send:

  • A screenshot of the mySolarEdge error screen.
  • A photo of the inverter from the front.
  • A short note saying whether your router, Wi‑Fi name, or Wi‑Fi password was recently changed.
